A questionnaire to postgraduates and other interested persons about
developing postgraduate support in the Midwest
The Geraldton Universities Centre (GUC), the Combined Universities
Centre for Rural Health (CUCRH) and Central West TAFE (CWT) formed a partnership with the aim of finding ways of supporting
postgraduates and others involved in study or research, regardless
of their university affiliation.
We believe that there is a potential community of “post graduate
practitioner-students” in Geraldton and the Midwest who would
welcome opportunities for learning support. This support might
include such things as simply a place to study and to meet other
like minded people, to share ideas and to learn skills necessary to
improve their performance.
Maybe you feel a sense of isolation, maybe you want to discuss
topics of interest or learn how to search an electronic database or
improve your writing. Maybe there is something else that we can
provide that you can tell us about.
We would like to help anyone who is studying or researching … or
thinking about it. We are also interested in obtaining information
from recent graduates and those who have withdrawn from postgraduate
study.
Please help us help you by completing the attached questionnaire,
either on line, or print out and post/fax/deliver to the GUC
(details are at the end of the form). Be assured the information you
provide will be kept confidential.
We are looking forward to receiving your input as it is crucial that
the direction of the proposed “Community of Interest” is by
postgrads/researchers for postgrads /researchers. Our partnership
aims to provide the facilities and support to make the network
happen. Our intention is to hold get together toward end of October
when respondents can meet and join in discussions to progress the
development of the community of practice and to plan future support
and activities.
