What is HECS-HELP

Higher Education Loan Program (HELP)

Australian citizens and holders of a permanent humanitarian visa may be entitled to HECS-HELP assistance. A HECS-HELP loan covers all or part of your student contribution, or may provide you with a 20% discount for up-front payments.

Holders of a permanent visa (other than a permanent humanitarian visa) and New Zealand citizens are not eligible for HECS-HELP and are generally required to pay the student contribution up front and in full to their University by the due date specified on the tax invoice issued by the University.
