Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS)
The GUC will run the STEPS bridging program to provide an alternative entrance pathway to university in 2012.
Partner: Central Queensland University.
Length: One semester full time or two semesters part-time.
Entry: Via interview and testing.
Delivery Mode: Supported distance education with online resources. Eight hours of face-to-face tutorials each week at the GUC plus two required study sessions (three hours each) at the GUC. 10-12 hours of study (including time at the GUC) is required to complete each unit.
STEPS includes four courses of study as follows:
Preparation Skills for University
Essay Writing for University
Fundamental Mathematics for University
Computing Skills for University
Applications for entry to the STEPS program for Semester 1 2012 have now closed. Information regarding application for entry in Semester 2 will be available towards the middle of the year.
