Scholarships


To provide financial assistance to our students, the Geraldton Universities Centre's Hollomby Foundation operates a scholarship program for those undertaking study at the GUC. Scholarships range in value from $500 to $5,000.  
 
Scholarships have been awarded for 2013.  
 
 
Mid West Development Commission
Recipient: Michael Patrick (Bachelor of Learning Management)
This $3,000 scholarship is targeted at Geraldton school leavers from 2010 and 2011 who will commence a full time undergraduate course at the GUC in 2013.

City of Greater Geraldton
Recipients: Rebecca Dodson and Maree Espinos (Bachelor of Learning Management)

Two $2,000 scholarships are offered to new or continuing students studying full time at the GUC in 2013 and residing within the City of Greater Geraldton.

The Hon. Grant Woodhams, Member for Moore
Recipients: Emily Bunter and Ebonie Stevens (Bachelor of Learning Management)

Two $1,000 scholarships are offered as per below:
Entry Level Scholarship
This scholarship is open to recent school leavers (under the age of 20) who have completed Year 12 and have gained entrance to a GUC course either through an ATAR, University Preparation Course or a TAFE Pathway.
Moore Scholarship
This scholarship is open to new or continuing students studying an undergraduate degree through the GUC from the Electorate of Moore.
 
The Shire of Northampton
Recipients: Ashlee Thomson (Bachelor of Communications) and Deb Carson (Bachelor of Business) 
Valued at $2,000, this scholarship is open to new or continuing, full or part time students at the GUC residing in the Shire of Northampton.

Shire of Irwin Scholarship

Recipient: Kobi Jeffery (Bachelor of Learning Management)
This scholarship of $3,000 is open to residents of the Shire of Irwin undertaking an undergraduate degree at GUC, either part time or full time.  

Ian Blayney MLA, Member for Geraldton
Recipient: Robyn Zadow (Bachelor of Business)
This scholarship is valued at $1,000 and is open to new or continuing full-time students at the GUC in 2012.

St John of God Health Care Geraldton
Recipient: Tamryn Richmond (Bachelor of Science - Nursing)

This $1,000 scholarship is open to full time or part time (at least two units) students in second year or above of the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) at the GUC.

Ben Knight Scholarship
Recipient: Riccardo Amazzini (Bachelor of Learning Management)

A former graduate himself, Ben Knight offers a $500 scholarship to encourage men to study in the Bachelor of Education at the GUC.

Bundiyarra Community Aboriginal Corporation Scholarship

Recipient: Rianna Pension (Bachelor of Learning Management)
This $1,000 scholarship is open to Aboriginal school leavers to encourage aspiration and participation in local university study.

Hollomby Foundation Scholarships in Nursing
 The Hollomby Foundation remains committed to supporting students to enter Nursing studies at the GUC.  As arrangements with GUC and Curtin University for the support of the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) have recently changed, there will not be an intake of nursing students in 2013.  Therefore no specific Hollomby Foundation Nursing Scholarships will be made available in 2013.
