Named in honour of the late Joe Hollomby, the Hollomby Foundation Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students studying a degree course through the Geraldton Universities Centre (GUC). Scholarships are provided by a broad range of individuals and organisations across the Mid West
The Hollomby Foundation is very excited to announce that 29 Metals–Golden Grove have come on board this year to provide a $5,000 Excellence in Teaching Award. The award will support a 3rd year Bachelor of Education student who has achieved the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) for the academic year. The $5000 prize is in recognition of academic excellence and is aimed to assist students with the financial impost incurred by the requirements to complete long term practicum placements in the 4th year of their degree.
There are several new scholarships this year, provided by the Poligadu Family, Lara Dalton MLA, Shane Love MLA, and Hon Sandra Carr MLC, while Mid West Ports continues their sponsorship of the Hollomby Foundation Travel Bursaries. Thank you!
2021 Deepdale Scholarship in Nursing recipient Kailey Farrell said winning the scholarship helped ease the pressure of balancing the costs of living with the costs of studying full time.
“The scholarship has helped me to pay down my HECs debt, pay for my textbooks and other course requirements such as nursing scrubs which can be quite expensive.” Kailey said. This has eased the financial pressure and allowed me to just focus on my studies. The application process is easy, and I encourage all GUC students to give it a go.”
Scholarships are open to GUC students studying a degree course in 2022. Information on how to apply, and the scholarship that are on offer can be found here:
