GUC Come and See

The GUC will hold a “Come and See” the GUC event on Thursday October 15th –  3:30pm – 6:30pm.

GUC Director Natalie Nelmes said the event will provide the opportunity to  tour the GUC campus, find out all about our courses,  try out interactive course activities, speak to an academic tutor and learn first hand from current students about what studying at the GUC is all about.

Head to the Information Tent and sign up for a campus tour – tours start at 3:45pm and go every 15 mins.  Taking a campus tours puts you in the draw to win an Apple Watch!!

5:15-6:00pm Meet the Tutors: Come and chat with a GUC academic coordinator or tutor about the course you are interested in (see campus map for locations – coming soon!)

Course Activities
Education – Ask questions of a current Ed student, bring the kids for some art and craft activities, have a go at coding, and much more…

Bridging  –  Navigate and chart your pathway to university studies through our STEPS and ITEC bridging courses.

Nursing  – What does infection control look like? Interactive activities to “see” how good you have really washed your hands and can you do a ‘no touch’ wound dressing?..see your insides….quite literally with the CURIOSITEE t-shirt…and learn all about blood pressure..

Accounting/Business – Set yourself up for a career in business….Get your resume together from the Jobs and Skills Centre, identify your skills gaps and training needs…

Engineering – set a laser level, examine the foundations of our GUC buildings and soil as you talk all things Engineering…

Agribusiness – Discover what a career in Agribusiness could look like from many different perspectives and experiences.

Social Work/Psychological Science – Drum you way into mental health… Grab your popcorn and settle down for our psychology cinema experience…and meet up with the HeadSpace crew…

Big Softy Icecream van will be on site for the whole event.

Food and drinks, including afternoon teas can be purchased from the GUC canteen in Building B.  All proceeds to the Hollomby Foundation supporting student scholarships. Eftpos available.

Listen to live local music in the central zone… and look up into the universe with CSIRO!!
